0x8007232B DNS name does not exist. What this means
This has the same meaning as 0x8007007B: the client cannot resolve a KMS host in DNS. The path that raises it is different, but the checks are the same.
Common causes
- The device is on an external network and cannot reach internal DNS.
- The KMS host name is not registered correctly.
- A network policy is blocking DNS queries.
Do this first
Check whether this device is supposed to activate with KMS. On a personal device, this error is usually leftover configuration.
What to do next
- 1Connect to the internal network, then try again.
- 2Ask IT to check the host name and the DNS records.
Continue diagnosis from this code
Take what you know into the KMS diagnosis. It will ask a few more questions to narrow this down.

About this data
